We’re excited to show off our brand new, state-of-the-art dental facility full of the latest high-end equipment! We have all new low-dose radiographs & 3D imaging for your safety, a Cone Beam CT scanner for improved accuracy and speed of treatment, and a new state-of-the-art sterilization center for enhanced infection control and proper cleaning of the workplace. We take our investment in the best technologies seriously and will continue to update our practice to better serve you.

About US / Meet Our Team

Dr. Ankit Patel

Meet Dr. Ankit K. Patel

Dr. Ankit K. Patel grew up in Birmingham, AL and graduated from Homewood High School. Following high school, he graduated Summa Cum Laude with University Honors from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in Biology. During his time in college, he was active in various leadership roles including the UAB Ambassadors and Leadership Service Council and received the Mr. UAB award in 2005.

Dr. Patel completed dental school at UAB and his Advanced General Dentistry Residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospitals in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. He then practiced dentistry in Madison, AL where he diligently expanded his dental education and clinical skills while working at a well-structured and caring office. In 2020, he moved to Georgia to pursue the next level in his career and felt at home in Cartersville.

Dr. Patel is described as kind, compassionate, attentive, and more than willing to go the extra mile. He is excited to deliver the high quality that patients expect and want as he guides them towards lasting oral health through his philosophy of Prevent, Restore, and Maintain.

Dr. Patel is a current member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Georgia Dental Association, and the local district dental society.

During his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with his wife and son, being close with his family, attending continuing education classes, enjoying outdoor activities, exploring new restaurants, and traveling.

Pam Bailey - Office Administrator

Pam is our Office Administrator and has been with our practice since it opened in 2021. Her earlier years were spent in corporate dentistry as a Regional Call Center Manager before she transitioned to our office. Pam was born and raised in Cartersville and loves contributing to the hometown feel of the office, helping the community recognize Highlands Point Dental as the "go-to family dentist in town".

Pam’s most rewarding part of her role here is helping change the smiles and self-confidence of patients that become part of our dental family. Pam is married and has four children and five grandchildren. When relaxing outside of the office, Pam enjoys spending time outdoors, swimming, and going on weekend trips.

Blair Stuart, RDH

Blair is a hygienist here at Highlands Point Dental. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgia Highlands College in 2022. Blair is also a Hinman Scholar and a Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler awardee. Her favorite parts of her job are working with family-like co-workers at Highlands Point Dental, educating patients about their oral care, and seeing the results their education brings.

Blair is originally from Blue Ridge, GA but currently resides in Cartersville, GA. She enjoys cooking, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. In her spare time, she and her boyfriend enjoy taking their Goldendoodles on hikes.

Karlee is a hygienist here at Highlands Point Dental. She recently graduated from Georgia Highlands College and received the Simply Hygiene Personal Growth Award. Her favorite part of being a hygienist is helping her patients understand and commit to healthy habits that will better their oral health. She also loves seeing their confidence grow through their dental journey.

Karlee grew up and lives in Rockmart, Ga. Outside of hygiene, she loves to spend time with her family and friends as well as loves being outdoors, painting, and taking her two dogs on hikes.

Katie Tolbert - BSDH, RDH

Katie is a hygienist here at Highlands Point Dental. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgia Highlands College in 2023 and received and Colgate STAR Award. Her favorite part of being a hygienist is helping her patients gain confidence in their oral health.

Katie grew up in Taylorsville, Georgia and currently resides in Rydal, Georgia. Outside of hygiene, she loves to do DIY projects with her family and spend time outdoors.

Lacey

Lacey is one of our hygienists here at Highlands Point Dental. She was an Honor graduate from Georgia Highlands College and graduated with an Associate Degree in 2023. Lacey is passionate about making a difference in the lives of her patients. It is her goal, by teaching at-home prevention techniques and providing thorough patient education, to help each patient build confidence in caring for and loving their own smile.

Lacey is originally from Rome, Georgia, and she loves to travel to new places. In her free time, you’ll often find her hanging out with family and friends, including her boyfriend and her Labrador named Buck. She especially likes to go for walks and adventures with Buck.

Tia has been a part-time dental hygienist since graduating with honors from Georgia Highlands College in 2006. She is a recipient of the Etowah Foundation Scholarship and has lived all over Bartow County since moving from Ohio at the age of 2. She is passionate about patient care, staying up to date with emerging science and continuing education courses.

Tia enjoys spending time with her husband of 13 years, their 2 sons and 3 fur babies. She is an active member of Bartow Cumberland Presbyterian Church and likes to travel to beaches and mountains in her spare time.

Nick Shealy, Dental Assistant

Nick is our dental assistant and has been working in the dental field since 2012. Before joining us at Highlands Point Dental, Nick worked for his father's pediatric practice for many years. Working with children taught Nick valuable skills in patient care, and he learned to adapt quickly to a variety of difficult situations. Nick also loves to travel and has spent many summers in Spain. During some of this time, he interned in both the pediatric and endodontic specialties. Nick is fluent in Spanish and his time in Spain furthered developed his proficiency of the language within the field of dentistry.

Nick attended Wofford College and double majored in Biology and Spanish. In 2022 he graduated from the Biomedical Master's program at Mississippi College. In his free time, Nick enjoys being outside and spending time with family and friends. His favorite part of his job is interacting with the patients making them as comfortable as possible as well as learning about the procedures.

I’ve been a dental assistant since 2012. Started working in pediatrics and have grown to have a passion for dentistry. Really enjoy getting to meet new people and create a fun and exciting culture for them. I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I’m a Georgia Bulldogs fan. I was born and raised in GA. Been living in Cartersville the past 5 years. just became a recent Dad to a little boy name Aaron Leo. me and my wife have been married for 6 years. I have a 9lb silver toy poodle named Chico. Love serving at my church in midtown with my family.

Brenda Ortiz - Patient Care Coordinator

Brenda is our Patient Care Coordinator and assists in the front office at Highlands Point Dental. Brenda worked in a pediatric dental office for 8 years before joining our team. She enjoys helping others and making them feel at home and comfortable during their visit. She is also bilingual and loves being able to help others fully express their concerns while also understanding everything during their visit.

Brenda is originally from California but has lived in Cartersville for the past 16 years. She is married with 3 children and enjoys cooking, baking, going on walks with her kids, and spending time outdoors.

Yuli

Yuli Jimenez-Alcantar

Yuli is one of our Patient Care Coordinators and a positive asset to our team! You will always find her smiling & laughing. Her bilingual skills come in handy as she loves talking to and greeting patients, helping both patients and team members alike have a great time. Yuli worked in dental and ortho administrative rolls for about 3 years before joining us at Highlands Point Dental.

Yuli was born and raised in Anaheim, California, and moved to Georgia seven years ago. She is married with 3 crazy boys... soon to be 5 crazy boys! Her twins are due in May of 2024. In her free time, you will find her cooking, spending time with family (with the boys!) and watching documentaries on Netflix.
